He taxed the hell out of the middle-class
Man, we had a bad June in job growth. Unemployment rose from 9.1% to 9.2% and only 18,000 private sector jobs were created. That's a bad month but it's better than Ronald Reagan's 21st month - June 1983 - when unemployment was 10.1%. And another huge contrast would be that Obama inherited a recession from his predecessor while Reagan created his own. They even named it after him. You won't read those facts in your history books. Texas Republicans pick and choose what's written in our kid's history books.And what did Reagan do when he realized he fucked things up with his 1981 massive tax cut for the rich? He gave us the, 'Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982' which is still the largest tax increase in our country's history. And then he raised taxes - on the middle class of course - 10 more times.
So, you read that here; Reagan caused his own recession and then raised the hell out of taxes to get us out of it. You won't read that in our history books and Eric Cantor won't tell you that either. But I sure in hell will.
