Sunday Scroll #65 - 'Slam Dunk' Edition

May was best month of 62 in Iraq!
The Iraq Occupation just finished the month of May with the fewest American deaths, 19, since Bush took the country there in March 2003. The previous low was 20 in February 2004. Wonderful news! We've won! Let's come home. Today. God bless 'the 19' and their families.

Could somebody please!
'I am not a member of any organized party — I am a Democrat'
WASHINGTON — To jeers and boos that showcased deep party divisions, Democratic Party officials agreed Saturday to seat delegates from the disputed Florida and Michigan primaries at the party’s convention in August but give them only half a vote each ...

Judas Lieberman
WASHINGTON (AP) — Sen. Joe Lieberman says he'll speak at a July conference hosted by Rev. John Hagee, whose endorsement was recently rejected by Republican John McCain because of Hagee's controversial remarks about religion. Hagee said God sent Adolf Hitler to help Jews reach the promised land.
[You know, Traitor Joe reminds me alot of an old boss I had almost 30 years ago. Steve King, an old crotchety Jewish guy and the plant manager where I worked -- had a boy friend about 20 years younger who had two huge swastika tattoos - one on each arm. Lieberman is your proto-typical social 'conservative'. He's nuts!]

Make that call
ON THE north-west tip of Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan's Nuristan province, Chitral has long been thought a possible refuge for Osama bin Laden. Rendered almost inaccessible by the high peaks of the Hindu Kush range and narrow valleys, its secret mountain routes make it easy to dodge between Afghanistan and Pakistan. This district of North-West Frontier Province is the home of the Kalasha, a unique pagan community that has lived in the area for 2,000 years or more, and it is boxed in by an increasingly militant Islam.
[If the 'pagan' Kalasha feel so 'boxed in', tell us where Osama bin Laden is and we'll take care of that problem for you. We'll throw in the $25 million bounty too.]

Fox asks viewers for 'voter fraud' stories
Ann Coulter is by far the biggest 'voter fraud' case that I'm aware of and she's right there in-house!
I've already touched on that ...

Bring it on!
A source at Opec said its 13 members were uncomfortable with the current price of crude, which last week hit a record $135 a barrel. Based on present supply and demand, he said it should be fetching $60-$70 a barrel.
[As I said, it's not about supply and demand.]

War is Hell
Got a light?
TAMPA — Next year, a giant Confederate flag may tower above the tree line near the junction of Interstate 75 and Interstate 4. The Sons of Confederate Veterans wants drivers in the Tampa area to see the massive flag — 30 feet high and 50 feet long — atop a 139-foot pole, the highest the Federal Aviation Authority would allow. It would be lit at night.
[Yeah, let's hope it gets lit some night.]

Humans on Mars
The space travel vehicle Phoenix landed on the North Pole of Mars, holding a rehearsal for the first human landing on Mars expected to be in 2010.

He's a 'maverick'?

'Untouched By Civilization'
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - Brazil's government agreed to release stunning photos of Amazon Indians firing arrows at an airplane so that the world can better understand the threats facing one of the few tribes still living in near-total isolation from civilization, officials said Friday. Anthropologists have known about the group for some 20 years but released the images now to call attention to fast-encroaching development near the Indians' home in the dense jungles near Peru.

McCain's boy 'lobbying for Iran'
Before Rick Davis began serving as John McCain's campaign manager, his lobbying firm had a pretty cosmopolitan set of clients. For example, Ukranian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov, who has several business links to Iran. ... Davis' lobbying shop, Davis Manafort, was doing work for the Ukranian oligarch about the same time that Davis was serving as the president of McCain's Reform Institute.
[It's thoroughly amazing how corrupt the McCain campaign is. Is anybody keeping count?]

The Limbaugh Award

It's been a very interesting week in search of our 65th recipient of The Limbaugh Award. The esteemed, and now, 'world renowned' selection committee grappled with the newly revealed Scott McClellan confirmations, but decided that since he was now telling the truth and merely 'confirming' what has been obvious to anyone with a shred of self-respect, McClellan wasn't the right choice.

But ladies and gentlemen, if John 'Lil' Bush' McCain isn't the undeniable and undisputed winner of this week's 'prestigious, but infamous', -- and now, 'world-renowned' -- award for liars, we here at 'done that' [known throughout the internets as the "most reputable" and "best sourced" blog in the world] would not be living up to the high standard that you all have obviously become used to.

I mean damn, McCain had a miserable week! The selection committee had already chosen the poor fool on his ridiculous claim earlier in the week that, "every intelligence agency in the world believed Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction", and then he went and made his stupid comment about our troops in Iraq being below pre surge levels. And then the next day he lied about what he said the day before!

Slam-fucking-dunk, Mr Straight Talk! Congratulations, you're #65!!
