I just picked my self up off the floor after hearing Joe Scarborough say on Meet the Press that, 'many people are surprised that Barack Obama continued many of George Bush's and Dick Cheney's policies on the 'war on terror'. That theory, that statement by many is so ridiculous it's almost not worth reacting to, but I can't help it.
Bush and Cheney ignored the 'war on terror'. Invading Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with fighting terrorists and they completely ignored Afghanistan until candidate Barack Obama started embarassing them in late 2007. In fact, the Bush/Cheney policy on going after bin Laden and al-Qaeda was stated very clearly by Bush's Secretary of State, Condi Rice, when she sheepishly stated before Congress, that we could never attack terrorists in Pakistan because they were our ally.
For people who now try to pretend as if Obama has fought against the terrorists the same way Bush and Cheney did is nothing but a lie about the factual historical record. Those lies might work with the ignorant teabaggers but they won't with those of us who remember the facts.
