I heard Rush Limbaugh on the radio today. In a very short period of time I heard him say two things; (1) As 'he told his listerners last week', Democrats will
not seat Roland Burris and (2) Barack Obama has changed his mind about closing Guantánamo.
Burris Cleared to Take Senate Seat
Senate Democratic leaders today cleared the way for Roland Burris to be seated as a senator from Illinois, after his appointment by the state’s now impeached governor had turned into a weeklong spectacle shifting between the nation’s capital and the corruption scandal back in Illinois.
Obama to Issue Order Next Week Closing Guantánamo
President-elect Barack Obama is planning to issue an executive order on his first full day in office ordering the closing of the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, people briefed by Obama transition officials said Monday.
