Petraeus slaps down McCain

Success In Iraq Was Possible Without The Surge
Petraeus is careful not to credit all the progress to the surge of U.S. troops in 2007. The sea change came last year from a series of movements now known as the Awakening. […] So would the Sunni Awakening have succeeded without the surge? Possibly, he concedes.
Many scoffed at the notion that the Sunni Awakening had anything to do with the reduction of violence in Iraq. McCain said it was, 'such a false depiction of what actually happened.'

Well, according to his boy, General Petraeus, McCain is wrong again.

The 'surge' - 1,061 deaths, $325 billion, and the result would have been the same. We need leadership with good judgment and John McCain has shown repeatedly that he's not that guy.
