Obama's Pakistan policy pays major dividend!

Same policy was ridiculed as 'naive' by McCain

Almost exactly a year ago Barack Obama called for airstrikes against al-Qaeda and Taliban targets who operate freely in the Waziristan region of Pakistan just across the Afghanistan border. Do you remember the reaction Obama received at the time? Wingnuts were outraged and called him foolish and 'inexperienced'.

Who could forget John McCain calling Obama 'naive' and ... blasting him for advocating a bombing of Al Qaeda hide-outs in Pakistan."

Mitt Romney said Obama's remarks were "ill-considered." George W. Bush mocked Obama and said his idea of attacking al-Qaeda targets in Pakistan was " "unsavory".

Well, Bush, McCain and Romney aren't mocking Obama now. They're not calling airstrikes in South Waziristan 'naive' or 'unsavory' anymore. No, they're now following the policy Barack Obama advocated over a year ago. And it looks like it's working.

Thanks Barack -- Nice call.

Al-Qaeda #2, al-Masri, killed again in U.S. airstrike
CAIRO, Egypt — Al Qaeda confirmed in a Web statement Sunday the death of a senior commander known as a top explosives and poisons expert, who is believed to have been killed in a U.S. airstrike in Pakistan last week.

The statement said Abu Khabab al-Masri and three other commanders were killed. It did not give details on when or how they were killed, but Pakistani authorities have said they believe al-Masri died in an American airstrike last Monday on a compound near the Afghan border.

Pakistani officials have said six people were killed in that strike, in the country's lawless South Waziristan tribal region.

Al-Masri, an Egyptian militant whose real name is Midhat Mursi, had a $5 million bounty on his head from the United States.
