In a closely divided opinion today, the Supreme Court found that while the crime of raping a child is a "revulsion" to society, it does not merit the death penalty.If we have the death penalty for rape and kidnapping, what deterrent is left for the perpetrator to not just kill the victim?
The death penalty should only be used in cases of murder.
