Democratic pressure pays off nicely

Musharraf 's ass finally moves

ISLAMABAD, March 3 -- The arrest of a senior Taliban leader in a Pakistani city long reputed to be a haven for the group kindled guarded hope among Western and Afghan security officials Friday that the government here plans to move more aggressively against insurgents taking refuge on its territory.

The arrest, confirmed by two senior Pakistani intelligence officials, marks the first time since the Sept. 11, 2001,attacks that authorities here have acknowledged apprehending or killing a senior Taliban figure on Pakistani soil.

The new Democratic Congress keeps racking up these 'clandestine-like', but huge dividends from the new and long overdue oversight on Bush's 'war follies on terror'.

It was only one week ago that Bush sent his bulldog, Dick Cheney to Pakistan to warn Musharraf that the Democrats would no longer let him play us like a fiddle.

If Republicans would have held Congress last November, none of this would be happening. All we would have had was more of the same old bullshit. To jog your memory, how many times did we hear Bush, members of his administration and Republicans in Congress, whimper, 'stay the course'?

Well, Democrats aren't buying, 'stay the course', anymore - Dick Cheney made sure Musharraf got the message.

And the Democratic majority in Congress paid you another dividend.
