Democratic Congress Pays Huge Dividend

Democrats force Bush's hand in the REAL War on Terror

President Bush has sent “an unusually tough message to one of his most important allies,” Pakistan President Gen. Pervez Musharraf. But the “tough message” is about what others will do: Bush has warned “that the newly Democratic Congress could cut aid to his country unless his forces become far more aggressive in hunting down operatives with Al Qaeda.” -via TP
This is a clear example of what a HUGE dividend the American people are receiving from last November's elections. Without the Democratic majority in Congress, Bush would have NEVER gotten tough with Musharraf and he would have continued to allow Pakistan to play us like fools.

To win the REAL war on terror, it's not about, 'supporting' Bush, it's about opposing him.

The exact same thing is starting to happen in Iraq. Bush, Condoleeza Rice and Robert Gates have all warned Nouri al-Maliki that the Democrats were not going to put up with this war much longer and al-Maliki has responded with pressuring his troops to pick it up.

Without the Democratic Congress, Bush would still be stuck on 'stay the course', and 'stupid'.
