Iran helps Iraq, and you're surprised?

If Russia invaded Canada and occupied the northern two-thirds of their country, do you think Americans would assist Canadians in their resistance against the Russians? Do you think we would supply them with ordnance or other types of hardware in their quest to dislodge the occupiers?

Iraq's Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, spent over 20 years in exile after Saddam Hussein sentenced him to death in 1980. Guess where he spent his 20+ years in exile; A) Siberia B) Hawaii C) Syria D) Iran, or E) both C & D?

The most powerful religious leader in Iraq is the Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani. Does the word 'Ayatollah' ring a bell with you? And he's so bad; they put 'Grand' in front of his title. Guess where the Grand Ayatollah was born? He was born in Iran.

The second most powerful religious leader in Iraq is Muqtada al-Sadr. Muqtada is the son of another Ayatollah, the Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Sadeq al-Sadr. Dad was murdered by Saddam's secret police in 1999 and Junior hates Sunnis and Americans and loves Iranians. And the Iranians love him.

Iraq's Finance Minister, Baqir Jabr al-Zubeidi, a Shia, spent over 10 years in exile in Iran.

Iraq's Minister of Oil, Hussain al-Shahristani, a Shia, was imprisoned for 10 years by Saddam and he's also a big fan of Iran.

Iraq's Interior Ministry is controlled and dominated by the 'Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq', (SCIRI). Nice friendly name, huh? Here's an abbreviated description of SCIRI from Wikipedia, "Historically, an Iraqi insurgent group backed by Iran", and " SCIRI supports the tenet of Iran's Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini".

You do remember the Ayatollah Khomeini, right?

Are you still surprised?

If you supported the invasion of Iraq you must be surprised by Iran's clandestine support of the new Iraqi government. You have to be surprised. You couldn't possibly have known that by toppling Saddam Hussein it would embolden Iran by turning the country over to the Iraqi Shia majority who have been allies with Iran for 500 years. Because if you knew that, and you still supported the invasion, you must be one stupid son-of-a-bitch!

Iraq and Iran; It's a match made in Hell. And our invasion of Iraq is what made it happen. You shouldn't be surprised, or you should have been smart enough to know better.

E) was the answer.
