Arpaio was told he could not detain immigrants simply because they lacked legal status — but for 18 months, his deputies carried on with the practice.
A lawman is supposed to enforce the law. Even an idiot couldn't argue that. Personally I think the judge who sentenced Arpaio, Susan Bolton, should do the six months in jail. She's obviously conspiring to harbor criminals.
