Verify: Can you be prosecuted for saying I hope?
You're sitting in your office and the chairman of the corporation's secretary calls and says the Chair would like to meet with you and when you get there he's ranting and whining about not receiving that past due report you've been working on. He states very clearly, 'Stram, I hope you have that report done by 5 PM this Friday'. You go back to your office and you tell your admin that there's no problem, he only 'hopes' that I get it done by Friday.
