That article states "as of Jan. 20, 2009, the day that Bush left office and Obama assumed it". When George W. Bush crawled out of office on January 20, 2009, he stuck the country with a $1.2 trillion deficit. That's Bush's deficit, not Obama's. And Obama has reduced that deficit by over 200% to $439 billion.
The bottom line is; if the Supreme Court had not crowned George W. Bush President in 2001 with a Republican dominated Congress there is a possibility that we wouldn't have a deficit with the condition Bill Clinton left the country in. Our Debt is 90% Republican. Unfortunately, we all have to pay.
