Yeah, and how'd that work for us?

In January 2001, CBO's baseline projections showed a cumulative surplus of $5.6 trillion for the 2002–2011 period. The actual results have differed from those projections because.... in 2001, Republicans took full control of our government.
When George W. Bush took office our national debt was $5.6 trillion and the CBO was projecting "a cumulative surplus of $5.6 trillion" over the next 10 years which would have gotten us to zero. Instead, Bush and Republican policies gave us trillion dollar deficits and $17 trillion in debt.

It's heartening to see the third Bush going back to that same old failed 'phony-conservative' playbook. At least the sheep can't hide this time.
