Frankly, let's be candid

I watch Hardball. Tonight Chris Matthews had Robert Walker, a former Republican Congressman from Pennsylvania on. Walker is a big 'ally' of Newt Gingrich and he's on Hardball to defend Newt and all good 'conservative' (sic) Republicans.

Matthews asked Walker about Newt's incendiary comments back in the 90's during the Susan Smith case in South Carolina when she drowned her two children.  This is what Newt said at the time;
"I think that the mother killing the two children in South Carolina vividly reminds every American how sick the society is getting and how much we need to change things." Gingrich concluded, "The only way you get change is to vote Republican. That's the message for the last three days."
Sure, Mr. Walker. Sure, Newt. You forgot the part about Susan Smith's step-father, Beverly Russell, who molested her as a teenager and who happened to be, a former member of the executive committee of the South Carolina Republican Party and a member of the Christian Coalition. Unfortunately, Matthews forgot that little tidbit of information. I didn't.

And then Walker mutters something else about the need for 'conservative values' and how bad society is these days with, you know, 'the Sandusky thing', and all.  Oh really, Bob?
I'll be damned; an 'active' registered Republican.

And one last thing that Walker brought up.  He defended Gingrich for saying that Barack Obama has, 'anti-colonial behavior'.  Well, all patriots in this country are 'anti-colonial', Mr. Walker.  We fought a big war on that.  I am a son of the American Revolution.  My great, great, great, great, great grandfather, Andrew Edmiston Edmondson - and two other relatives, were killed at the Battle of Kings Mountain in 1780.  But I understand your and Newt's disdain for 'anti-colonialists'.  After all, you Republicans were the Tories, loyalists to the King, of those days.  Frankly.
