Let me ask you a question. What do you think would happen to Barack Obama if a Congressional investigation proved that he secretly sold surface to air missiles to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda? Do you think they would name an airport or a federal building after him?
Not much more than a year after the Ayatollah Khomeini and his Hezbollah guerrillas murdered 241 of our guys in Beirut, Reagan secretly sold Iran thousands of TOW and HAWK surface to air missiles. That's not a rumor, that is a well documented, historical fact that Reagan was forced to admit to under oath.
And, Mr. Simmons states, Reagan would send Iran a "message on a very, very large scale"? No he wouldn't. He would cut and run just like he did in Beirut and then he would treasonously sell them weapons shortly afterward. That's what Reagan did do.
And oh yeah, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? Let's not forget that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the 'neocons' all supported Ahmadinejad for Iran's president back in 2005. So, I don't think it even needs to be said that when it comes to dealing with Iran, Republicans should shut the fuck up! They have zero credibility on the issue.
