We know why we're still there

'Petraeus cites Bush-era shortcomings'

“Over the last 18 months or so what we’ve sought to do in Afghanistan is to get the inputs right for the first time. We needed to refine the concepts — to build, in some cases, concepts that didn’t exist” seven years after the Afghan war began in October 2001."

We are 106 months into a 'war' that should have lasted three, maybe four months. But it was bungled terribly from the start and then tragically ignored when we stupidly invaded Iraq.

Petraeus could have stood up and said something a long time ago but he never did and Admiral Fallon told us why.

With Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, the neocons and 'sycophant' generals like Tommy Franks and Petraeus, doing the right thing after 9/11 in Afghanistan didn't have a snowballs chance in hell of happening.
