The 'next Ronald Reagan'?

Another Reagan? Check your wallets!
"In an August 31 Washington Times editorial, former Reagan administration official and Heritage Foundation writer James T. Hackett attempted to remedy what has so far eluded conservatives - finding "a new Ronald Reagan."

Let's begin this post with a simple question: Which president is responsible for the largest tax increase in history? Was that Roosevelt or Clinton? No, that would be, Ronald Reagan's 'Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982'.

Question number two: After nearly 50 years of Social Security being tax-free, which president decided that those benefits should be taxed? Was that Carter or Clinton? No, once again that was Reagan and his, 'Social Security Reform Act of 1983'.

Question number three: After the Social Security tax increase of 1983, which president increased taxes in 1984, 1985, 1986 and 1987? That would be Ronald Reagan once again.

Question number four: Which president after spending years complaining about federal spending and the nation's debt not only drastically increased federal spending but more than tripled our nation's debt in his eight years in office? You guessed it, Ronnie Reagan.

If Republicans do find their new 'Ronald Reagan', this country's middle class better get used to paying a lot more in taxes so they can pay the billionaire's tax cuts.
