John McCain is holding up a full confirmation of James Clapper, President Barack Obama's nominee to be the director of national intelligence, the senator's office has confirmed. ...The director of national intelligence — a position created after Sept. 11 to coordinate America's intelligence operations — oversees 16 agencies, including the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency. Clapper had been unanimously approved 15-0 by the Senate Intelligence Committee last Thursday.Who cares about national security?
