Justice
BAGHDAD — An Iraqi insurgent leader killed in a Baghdad raid on Nov. 11 was responsible for the capture and killing of an Army soldier, the American military said Thursday.

The leader, Hajji Hammadi, was known to have connections with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the Jordanian exile who founded Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia and who was killed by the United States military in 2006, and with Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia’s current leadership, the military said in a statement.

... In 2004, Mr. Hammadi organized the capture of Staff Sgt. Keith Matthew Maupin, the military said. Sergeant Maupin, who was known as Matt and was from the Cincinnati area, was listed as “missing-captured” for nearly four years, until his remains were discovered in March. He was 20 years old at the time of his capture.
Justice takes awhile sometimes. But it came, Sgt. Maupin. Rest in peace.
