Bush/al-Maliki agree to Obama's 'Time Horizon'

It has practically become a contest between Bush and Lil' Bush of which one can move to Barack Obama's foreign policy strategy the fastest.

We have their 'new' vision of Nouri al-Maliki's demand for a timetable and they are cleverly calling it, a 'time horizon'. That's okay, we understand - same result.

Heckuva job, Barack.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush and Iraq's prime minister have agreed to set a "general time horizon" for bringing more U.S. troops home from the war, a dramatic shift from the administration's once-ironclad unwillingness to talk about any kind of deadline or timetable.

The announcement Friday put Bush in the position of offering to talk with Iraqi leaders about a politically charged issue that he adamantly has refused to discuss with the Democratic-led Congress at home.
Actually, George Bush is reverting back to his 1999 Kosovo policy on timetables. Remember when Bush said '"Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the president to explain to us what the exit strategy is."

Ah, those internets.

ADDENDUM: I scooped that baby! In an interview with Der Spiegel released on Saturday al-Maliki goes with Obama's plan on withdrawal;
“U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama talks about 16 months. That, we think, would be the right timeframe for a withdrawal, with the possibility of slight changes.” […]

See you tomorrow or the next day, Nouri. Barack will have the details.

ADDENDUM II: It gets better! The White House "Accidentally E-Mails to Reporters Story That Maliki Supports Obama Iraq Withdrawal Plan".

I love the smell of napalm.
