Let's get the hell out of here!

Afghan security forces running like scared chickenshits from an attack against President Hamid Karzai

Karzai escapes attack
KABUL, Afghanistan: A well-coordinated assassination attempt on President Hamid Karzai by suspected Taliban insurgents at the Afghan national day military parade in central Kabul has turned into a moment of national embarrassment for the government, which has been pressing to take over responsibility for Kabul's security from foreign troops.

Three people were killed Sunday in the brazen assault, ruining what was supposed to have been a proud moment for Afghan security forces. The ability of the attackers to get so close to Karzai, who escaped unhurt, suggested they had inside help.
Another clear indication that our policies have failed is the Taliban - those who harbored Osama bin Laden and the real al-Qaeda - have been allowed to regroup while we foolishly patrol the streets of Baghdad.

And those Afghan troops look about as brave and competent as the Iraqis do, don't they?

We should have stuck to the goal of avenging 9/11 by killing bin Laden - no matter where he's hiding - and forgot all the other bullshit in Afghanistan. We have could have been home years ago and the Afghans could have just continued their centuries old battles without us.
