"Wingnut Independence Day"

For a while there back in the 1990's I thought rightwing, so-called 'conservatives' (sic) were going to adopt April 19 as their, 'Independence' or 'Call to Arms' day.

If you remember, on April 19, 1993, David Koresh and his band of religious rightwingnuts, the Branch Davidians, burnt down their compound in Waco, Texas, murdering 75 of their own followers.

And then, two years later on April 19, 1995, Timothy McVeigh, a classic wingnut -- one who actually follows through on his fantasy of hatred -- blew-up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, murdering 168 innocent men, women and children.

Let us pray that we can get through another April 19th this year without some crazy fucking wingnut acting out on all of their 'bitterness', and hatred of this wonderful country.

Maybe the Pope could help us out a little today, too.
