Sunday Scroll #28 - OBL loves GWB Edition

What would like me to say?
"I am pro-life. I have a 100 percent voting record on the pro-life issues," [Fred]Thompson also said in the May interview on FOX. Reporters combing through Thompson's personal papers, now housed at the University of Tennessee, found a 1994 questionnaire in which Thompson said, "The ultimate decision on abortion should be left with the woman and not the government." [Hound Dog sounds like he's just another flip-flopping Republican - Maybe they should change from the elephant to the dolphin]

There's goes another one
Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel, a persistent Republican critic of the Iraq war, intends to announce on Monday he will not seek a third senate term, according to Republican officials. [The Chickenhawk Party, who had very few patriots to begin with, loses one of the very few - Should that be the dolphin or the chicken?]

2% foreign & AQI affiliates
Gen. James Jones, author of a major report on Iraqi security forces, acknowledged to Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) this week that 98 percent of violence in Iraq is “Iraqis fighting amongst Iraqis”:
BAYH: [T]wo percent or fewer of the adversaries that we’re facing in Iraq and that the Iraqis are facing in Iraq are foreign jihadis or AQI affiliates, [and] 98 percent or more are Iraqis fighting amongst Iraqis for the future of Iraq. Is that consistent with your understanding?
JONES: I think we would agree with that. Yes.
[At least we have one General who isn't a lying political hack -- Bush needs to shut his stupid fucking mouth about 'fighting them over there']

And here's another fine article on the "Myth of AQI" .

Bush Econ 101
Struggling mortgage lender Countrywide Financial Corp. will cut as many as 12,000 jobs in a bid to slash costs and cope with soaring foreclosures and defaults, the company said Friday. The cuts, amounting to as much as 20 percent of its work force, are needed because the company expects new mortgages to fall about 25 percent in 2008 from this year's levels, Countrywide said.
[Those 12,000 can all get jobs at Wal-Mart so Bush can keep his phony 4.6% unemployment rate going]

Tomorrow, 20 years ago
On September, 10, 1987, at his residence in Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden launches al Qaeda. Bin Laden, propped up by Ronald Reagan and Bush Sr. with billions of dollars in weapons to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan - as everyone regretfully knows now - would later turn his terror on the United States.

They sure didn't 'run' very well
[Marine Staff Sgt. Frank] "Wuterich, who was on his first combat tour, described shooting five men because they were starting to run away".
[Boy, those five unarmed guys, shot in the back, didn't run very far from their car, did they? And, I wonder if the four children, ages 2, 3, 9 and 14, who were murdered at point blank range, tried to run, too? Not in my name, punk.]

Must be a typo
A U.S. statement said four Marines were killed in combat in Anbar province. Three soldiers from the Army's Task Force Lightning died when a bomb exploded near their vehicle in Ninevah province. All seven of the American deaths occurred Thursday in majority Sunni Arab areas, where extremist insurgents remain active. [Now wait a minute -- Bush just told us earlier this week that our guys and the Sunni insurgents were sitting around singing Kumbaya out there in Anbar -- He wouldn't lie to us, would he?]

Nah, they wouldn't do that
The F.B.I. cast a much wider net in its terrorism investigations than it has previously acknowledged by relying on telecommunications companies to analyze phone-call patterns of the associates of Americans who had come under suspicion, according to newly obtained bureau records.

Why Osama bin Laden is still free
"And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him." -- George Bush - 3/13/02, six short months after 9/11.

They are a good match
Bush and bin Laden feed off each other and that's exactly why bin Laden has on more than one occasion come out with a video in an attempt to rescue Bush. Bin Laden knows that as long as Bush is in the White House he will be safe and we will be doing exactly what he wants us to do.

The Limbaugh Award

The 'committee' and I knew who the obvious winner of the 'liars' award' should be for this week and when we went to the internets to gather information for his presentation we came upon Bill Press' guest column for, of all sites, World Nut Daily. This week's winner is General 'Betray Us' Petraeus.

It's a great piece by Press and since it's exactly what I would like to say without all the bad grammar and mis-speillling, [not to mention, I can watch football instead] here it is, and enjoy.

Congratulations, General Betray Us, you're number 28.

[And btw, I ripped off the General 'Betray Us' from the internets, too]
