Shouldering the Burden

U.K. Military Hands Over Basra City Base to Iraq

The U.K. has pulled 2,000 soldiers out of Iraq since January and will cut another 500 by the end of this year, leaving 5,000, compared with a peak of about 40,000 following the invasion. British forces have already relocated to bases and turned over security duties to local forces in three of the four provinces they have overseen in Iraq.
The British have reduced their troops from 40,000 down to 5,000 -- Funny, I missed the news about the genocide in the areas they were in.
