Less pigs at the trough

More from the Citizens Against Government Waste's (CAGW) 2007 Congressional 'Pig Book' on the federal government's pork-barrel spending;
"The enactment of H.J. Res. 20 eliminated more than 7,000 earmarks and saved between $12-15 billion in pork-barrel spending."
H.J. Res. 20, the 'Revised Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2007', the bill CAGW cites as 'saving' taxpayers up to $15 billion, was passed by Congress on January 31, 2007.

H.J. Res. 20 passed the House of Representatives by a 286-140 vote and the Senate by a vote of 81-15.

Of the 140 'no' votes in the House, 138 of them were Republicans. Only two Democrats voted 'no', with the remaining 229 House Democrats voting 'yes'.

In the Senate, every Democratic Senator voted 'yes', and all 15 'no' votes were Republicans.

Do you need a calculator, or a tutor, to explain to you which Party is trying to curb government spending?
