Hoyer Puts Republicans in a Bind Over War House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said Sunday the upcoming debate over the Iraq war will be confined to four straight days of arguing over President Bush's escalation of the military campaign.
..."We believe the American public wants a straightforward answer to the question, 'Do you agree with the president's proposal?'" Hoyer said.
It's about time the Democrats start acting like they are in control. Republicans are scared shitless to go on record with their support for Bush's desperate act of escalation and the American people deserve to see where they stand.
Giving it to the Republicans like they gave it to the Democrats all those years is what the strong do to the weak when given the chance. Payback feels awfully sweet.
Republicans need to quit whining, record your vote, and let your constituents decide if you deserve their vote the next time. Anything else is just more of the same lack of leadership from Congress like we've seen the last six years.
