U.S. Marine Cpl. Jason Dunham

U.S. Marine Cpl. Jason Dunham was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for saving the lives of two fellow Marines by jumping on a grenade during an ambush in Iraq.

It is said of you and all
who wear and have worn the uniform
of Semper Fi...
"Once a Marine
always a Marine!"

And so very true
is it for Marines like you,
who answered the noble call,
for America and fellow citizens all,
always standing bravely tall
every waking hour of each long day
going about your duty the Marines' way,
even willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice
to save others from the same deadly price.

Jason Dunham, you
represented America's red, white, and blue,
in such an unselfish way
that words could never properly convey.

So, as you look down from Above...
know that you will have America's constant love
and remembered for being the man and Marine you were,
whose great heroic example will always endure.
