"South Carolina and Nevada are more representative of the U.S"

I've heard a lot of political talking heads state that Nevada and South Carolina are more demographically representative of the United States. Nevada is 29% 'hispanic' and South Carolina is almost 27% black - twice the national percentage. If those two states represented America we'd be Venezuela or Nigeria.
