Don't stand up and cheer these guys

Republicans in Congress care more about their political careers and the GOP than our troops
House Republican moderates [sic], in a remarkably blunt White House meeting, warned President Bush this week that his pursuit of the war in Iraq is risking the future of the Republican Party and that he cannot count on GOP support for many more months.
Yesterday we learned that 11 congressional Republicans went to the White House and in a ‘blunt’ conversation with Bush, Condoleezza Rice, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, and Karl Rove, they finally got around to telling Bush and his minions (you get a pass Gates) just what miserable failures they've been in Iraq.

But did these so-called 'moderates' go to the White House because of their concern for the almost 3,400 men and women who have been needlessly killed? Or did they go because of the ridiculous $2 billion a week we're wasting or the $500 billion already wasted? No, they did not. They went because they are afraid they won't be reelected.

Real patriots these Republicans, aren't they? They sat back and watched and defended Bush and allowed this needless mistake of a war to rage on for 50 months with an immeasurable loss to this country, but all they’re worried about is getting reelected.

And these 11 Republicans are not 'moderates'. They were led to the White House by John Boehner so let’s put that goddamn lie from the media to bed right now.

Bottom line is, all of the Republicans are responsible for this war because they did nothing but rubber stamp everything Bush wanted when they controlled Congress.

And now they have the audacity to whine to that idiot about their political careers.

The rats are jumping from the ship. And for choosing their party politics over our troops and our country we need to drown these bastards just as soon as they hit the water.
